Plate heat exchanger

A plate heat exchanger is a device used to transfer heat between two fluids. It works by letting hot and cold fluids flow through thin metal plates. Heat moves through the plates from one fluid to the other. Because the plates have a large surface area, heat transfer is fast and efficient. Plate heat exchangers are commonly used in HVAC systems, factories, power plants, and cooling systems.

Compared with traditional shell-and-tube heat exchangers, plate heat exchangers are smaller, lighter, and more efficient. They take up less space and are easier to clean and maintain, which makes them a popular choice for modern industrial systems.

In many applications, plate heat exchangers are used together with finned tube heat exchangers. Plate heat exchangers are mainly used for liquid-to-liquid heat transfer, while finned tubes are suitable for air-to-liquid or air-to-air heat exchange. Finned tubes increase the heat transfer area with fins, helping the whole system work more efficiently and save energy.
